Terms of Service, Human Edition
Legal stuff doesn't have to be scary. Here's what you're agreeing to when you use eqva money, explained like we're having a conversation.
Last updated: January 2025
The Friendly Summary
By using eqva money, you're agreeing to:
- Use the app for its intended purpose (tracking your expenses)
- Be responsible for keeping your account secure
- Understand that we're a tool to help you, not financial advisors
- Pay for premium features if you choose to use them
What eqva money Is (and Isn't)
eqva money is: A personal expense tracking app that helps you understand where your money goes.
We Are
- • A tool to track your spending
- • A way to see patterns in your finances
- • A personal finance assistant
- • A privacy-focused expense tracker
We Are NOT
- • A bank or financial institution
- • Financial advisors or accountants
- • Tax preparation software
- • A replacement for professional advice
For important financial decisions, please consult with qualified professionals. We're here to help you track, not to advise.
Your Part of the Deal
When you use eqva money, you agree to:
Keep Your Account Safe
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your login details secure. Don't share your password, and let us know if you think someone else has access to your account.
Be Honest
Provide accurate information when creating your account. Don't pretend to be someone else or use the app for anything illegal.
Use It Properly
Don't try to break the app, reverse engineer it, or use it in ways it wasn't designed for. We built this to help people, not to be exploited.
Be at Least 13 Years Old
You need to be at least 13 to use eqva money. If you're under 18, please make sure your parent or guardian is okay with you using the app.
Payments & Subscriptions
Here's how our pricing works:
Free Trial
You get 7 days to try premium features for free. No credit card needed. If you don't subscribe, you'll simply lose access to premium features - we won't charge you anything.
Subscriptions
Our subscriptions are billed annually through the App Store or Google Play. They auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date.
To cancel: Go to your App Store or Google Play settings - that's where you manage all your subscriptions.
Refunds
Since payments go through Apple or Google, refund requests are handled by them. If you have an issue, contact their support or reach out to us and we'll try to help.
Price Changes
We might change our prices in the future, but we'll always give you notice before your next billing cycle. Your current subscription stays at your current price until it renews.
Changes & Updates
Apps evolve, and so do we:
We Might Update Features
We're constantly improving eqva money. Sometimes features change, get better, or occasionally get removed if they're not working well. We'll try to give you a heads up for major changes.
These Terms Might Change
If we update these terms, we'll let you know through the app or email. If you keep using eqva money after changes, that means you accept the new terms.
We Can End Things
We hope this never happens, but if you seriously violate these terms, we might need to suspend or terminate your account. Of course, we'll let you export your data first if possible.
The Fine Print (Disclaimers)
We're being straight with you:
"As Is" Service
We work hard to make eqva money great, but we can't promise it'll be perfect 100% of the time. We provide the app "as is" - meaning sometimes there might be bugs or downtime.
No Financial Advice
The insights and analytics we show are based on what you enter into the app. This isn't financial advice - it's just a mirror showing you your spending patterns.
Accuracy is on You
We try our best with voice recognition and automatic categorization, but sometimes we might get it wrong. Always double-check important entries.
Limited Liability
We're not responsible for any decisions you make based on data in the app, or for any losses if something goes wrong. Use your best judgment and keep important financial records backed up elsewhere too.
The Actual Legal Bits
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If we ever have a dispute (we hope not!), we'll try to work it out directly first. If we can't, the courts of Bangalore, India will have jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. This agreement is the whole deal between us - no verbal promises or other documents count.
Our Intellectual Property: The eqva money name, logo, and all the code and design in the app belong to us. You can use the app as a user, but you can't copy, modify, or redistribute it.
Questions About These Terms?
We tried to make these terms as clear as possible. If something doesn't make sense or you have concerns, please reach out.
